Keeping With Tradition

A Modern Update of a Classic Style

July 2018

TRADITIONAL
SCITUATE,RI

This country cottage kitchen was in desperate need of an update, however our clients wanted to be sure to keep with the classic style of the house. We achieved a more modern, polished look by removing just about everything in both the kitchen and dining room and completing the following. Maple flooring and hickory cabinets were installed to give the feel of what may have originally been in the home. A hickory wood, hood vent was added to bring in more tradition. In order to display some of the items from our clients travels, two of the upper cabinets were faced with glass inserts. To offset the darker color of the cabinets, a light colored countertop was chosen. The bridge faucet screams tradition with its English bronze finish and classic detailing. Talk about tradition…the gorgeous copper farmhouse sink is the center of attention in this space.

The wall between the dining room and kitchen was widened in order to give a more open feel. Our designer picked a gorgeous blue to compliment the clients existing dinnerware. We also advised the client on furniture and artwork placement. Our kitchen design prowess is known throughout Rhode Island.
